The Samkhya school has a huge influence on Indian Philosophical thought and pins everything on three important principles. An unmanifested world, held in the three qualities (guna), that form ‘the cause’. A manifested world, formed of matter (prakrti), that is ‘the effect’ and a pure subject or knower (purusa).
